I slipped down the ice in a free fall I slid down the ice for fun Crumpled in heaps was my rhythm Crumpled like we had just won So get back on, get back on your feet Get back on, get back on your feet Get back on, get back on your feet Broken but healing is taxing Broken before it turned on Soon this distress will relinquish Soon these confessions will be gone So go back on, go back on your word Go back on, go back on your word Go back on, go back on your word Woke up in a deadly freeze Woke up like an animal in heat All from the agony Of the reverse of the Devil’s defeat Sometimes I feel like discussing Sometimes I just feel disgust So come back in summer with daydreams Cause come back oh come back you must Cause I’m back on, I’m back on my back I’m back on, I’m back on my back I’m back on, I’m back on my back And I’m back on, I’m back on my feet I’m back on, I’m back on my feet I’m back on, I’m back on my feet

We waste a lot of time In a foreign land No one gets along No one understands That the holes The holes we try to fill They only fill with steam There’s renovation in these creationary times Back down if you can Bring peace of mind Don’t be scared to die You never toed the line But nothing Nothing that you feel Nothing that you feel is holding water Don’t waste water waste designs Throw them in the ocean Throw them in the ocean There’s renovation in these creationary times An interruption lingers in the morning In the morning I retire Find a foreign station and throw your arms out And close your eyes And see the ocean cry And see the ocean cry And see the ocean cry And see the ocean cry We waste a lot of time In a foreign land Why can’t we get along It’s time to make a plan But nothing Nothing that we feel Nothing that we feel is holding water Don’t waste water waste designs Throw them in the ocean Throw them in the ocean There’s renovation in these creationary times Throw them in the ocean Throw them in the ocean There’s renovation in these creationary times

Illusion II 04:50
Coincidence, genius, or predictable It’s predictable Like a movie where protagonists are flying toward the sun They’ll make it despite warning and accidents So what’s the worth in watching ‘til the end? It’s a bonfire at sunrise That flairs up when the wind blows While we’re sleeping We awake when we fear that hot is cold It’s an illusion; it’s an illusion You can blow on the coals but the flames will fade away It’s an illusion; it’s an illusion You can blow on the coals but the flames will fade away Be the strong man, don’t surrender Grab the embers forever They’re suffering and consuming What’s left of themselves And who put the ashes on the fire and hoped for flames? Who cleared the forest out and danced to summon anachronistic rains? Where were the workers who were tasked with such a simple thing to fix? Why couldn’t we have planned ahead when we were buried in the thick? It’s an illusion; it’s an illusion You can blow on the coals but the flames will fade away It’s an illusion; it’s an illusion You can blow on the coals but the flames will fade away It’s an illusion; it’s an illusion You can blow on the coals but the flames will fade away It’s an illusion; it’s an illusion You can blow on the coals but the flames will fade away

Revolving around the sun is for fools I’m back where I begun Like a globe that can’t be spun through the haze Through the haze There’s a train coming around the bend But it’s late Oh and no one’s gonna get off And no one’s gonna get off When it comes when it comes if it comes when it comes There’s a scare of terror breaking my daze And I’m never gonna sleep it away I’m too bored to come out and play No I’m never gonna sleep it away Before breaking become my guardian Twist the view’s crystal clear Protect all that you revere Don’t assume I’m being insincere When I gave you a beautiful mirror Now it’s gone now it’s gone oh now it’s gone now it’s gone There’s a scare of terror breaking my daze And I’m never gonna sleep it away There’s a scare of terror breaking my days And I’m never gonna sleep it away There’s a scare of terror breaking my dayz And I’m never gonna sleep it away I’m too bored to come out and play So I’m never gonna, no I’m never gonna sleep it away

Do or Die 05:44
Face down, mouth of sand and no memory Of how you got lost at sea Screaming disturbs the birds for a little while That’s how you know you even made a sound And no one’s taking care of you now No no one’s taking care of you now You always said that you needed a drive So now it’s do, do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die Don’t waste your time looking back and wondering why Cause now it’s do, do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die Planes fly too high above you so give it up It’s a miracle you even survived the crash Don’t ever forget the ones that died Your heart is as big as the sky And life’s too short to worry about time And life’s too short to cry, cry, cry You never know when the stars will align for you So do, do not die, do not die, do not die, do not die So take a breath and a rest but keep on doing Cause it’s do, do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die Do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die Do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die Do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die It’s do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die Do or die, do or die, do or die, do or die It’s do or die It’s do or die It’s do or die And you know it’s for the best to be alone for a little while

about

Recorded in the summer of 2009, "Throw Them in the Ocean" is the first EP in the "Unreleased Seasides" series, an indefinite series of EP's consisting of songs recorded within the last 100 years by Adam Kurtz, but mostly in 2009.

Originally, the recordings that make up "Throw Them in the Ocean" (and others) were slated to be the follow-up to 2008's "The Devil is Defeated"; however, that album was put on hold by the here-and-now relevancy of the Open Road sessions. Finally resuscitated, remixed and remastered from the original vinyl, these songs get to once again breath, blink, and bask in their moment in the sun.
